Laser Cavity Detection
Laser detection uses a pen like instrument to probe the chewing areas inside of your mouth by using by beaming laser light. The light from the laser reflects differently on a healthy tooth than it does on a decayed tooth. This not only makes it easy to identify a decayed tooth, but also detects weak areas in the tooth’s enamel in the early stages of tooth decay.
Laser cavity detection is a great tool in preventing cavities before they happen and allows the dentist to treat weak areas of the tooth to prevent a dental cavity before it ever forms.
